The XVI Festival of Traditional Folk Shipbuilding and Shipping "Kizhi Regatta"

1 - 3 august, 2014, Republic of Karelia


The annual festival "Kizhi Regatta" is aimed at updating national traditions of shipbuilding and yachting, the promotion of healthy lifestyle.

This year "Kizhi regatta" acquires the status of the First Kizhi International Festival of water kinds of tourism.

The celebration of 2014 is timed with the 300-th anniversary of the Church of Transfiguration in the architectural ensemble of Kizhi Island – the monument of world cultural heritage being under UNESCO protection.

The festival programme includes a contest of master- shipbuilders “People Boat” and competitions of traditional and modern rowing boats.
